the sundering characters jaith kuduri and yrla hagrand

Six months ago, the ashen angel of order Orrin was stricken from the skies, cast into the Sea of Sadness, right before thousand foot wide blades of flame fell on the Zwari Nation's northern and eastern border, sundering the Nation from its corner of the continent of Ghezmaux and from the entire world known as Empherial.

Prose Fiction (Debuting Winter 2024)

One week before they become audio on YouTube, paid subscribers on Substack can find fantasy prose stories set in the world of The Sundering. The first stories star our central character, Jaith Kuduri, played by actor and producer Damion Poitier (Avengers, Captain America: Civil War, The Flash, Payday, True Blood, Crime Boss: Rockay City). Unless otherwise stated, these stories come from live play Dungeons and Dragons sessions -- with dice rolls, ability checks and more -- played by Poitier that are transcribed and transliterated into prose by Hannibal Tabu.

Audio Fiction (Debuting Winter 2024)

If you'd rather listen than read, as part of Da Workz, there are dramatic readings with actors reading the parts of the "NPCs" (non-player characters, i.e. "everybody but Poitier") including Malcolm Barrett (The Boys, The Changeling, Better Off Ted, Preacher), Safiya Fredericks (I Am Charlie Walker, The Book of Boba Fett) and more on YouTube one week after the prose debuts on Substack.

What Is The Sundering?

The crowdfunding campaign for the DND fifth edition setting guide was 453% funded on Kickstarter, raising over $54k on an ask of $12,000 and was recommended by Eberron creator Keith Baker, legendary actor Phil LaMarr and Critical Role cast member Taliesin Jaffe.

Here's the preview video used to promote the campaign, voiced by Damion Poitier, explaining what it's all about.

The Sundering is an insultingly inclusive fantasy world with intricate politics, economics and of course adventure. One of the very few Black-owned offerings in the Fifth Edition TTRPG space, this work was created by Hannibal Tabu and Damion Poitier and published by Laguna Studios.
